Hi all I'm starting this thread to show my next next next project: DLT 19
I've been looking for a decent MG34 in New Zealand for the last year and a half or so and after a few false starts I finally have a base with which to build a master prop that can then be dropped in silicone and light weight durable prop weapons can be produced.
This is going to be yet another fairly long term build. I'm enlisting the help of a colleague of mine to help problem solve the build and most importantly develop a decent mold. This is a pretty complex thing to mold up; there will be lots of smaller supporting molds aside from the main one and I'll probably look to mill up the barrels.
So in the mean time this arrived from lativa! It's resin copy of a real butt stock. The casting is superb and as far as I can tell there is no shrinkage. This will be a great base for a dlt19 as it's cast from a Bakelite stock not a wooden one which somehow is more umm spacey...

xmas you say? Ok man I will try my best. I'll edit in an interest list. Probably only doing runs of 10 guns at a time at this stage. Not sure how it will pan out yet

Excellent idea Snibo! I've got one of these guitar racks that I've been thinking about modifying for that purpose...Snibo1 wrote:....must make a Gun Rack!

Oh yeah, I gotta get one of these.
I get the feeling that your version is going to be immaculately detailed...I'm sure it will be very cool.

Re: MG34/ DLT19 project
cool Matt yeah we're going to try and keep the detailing as crisp as possible. there will have to be some small sacrifices (like thickening some of the sprung steel parts) but I'm confident it will look pretty badass!MattG wrote:Oh yeah, I gotta get one of these.

Oh yeah the other thing I'm going to try and do is individually number the guns. I'm thinking a set of leather punches migh work on the urethane to give each weapon it's own id
