Hamilton Armageddon Cancelled

This unfortunate news has just been posted by Armageddon Expo organisers:

After holding four events in Hamilton’s Claudelands Arena, we are sorry to say that the 2015 event was the last in Hamilton for Armageddon for the immediate future.

Armageddon is a labor of love for us, with each event taking nearly a year to plan out, however economics does play a factor and unfortunately the Hamilton event, while a great Waikato experience, has not been able to cover the high cost of running it.

We know this will be a disappointment to Waikato attendees, and we hope to return some time in the future, but at this stage we will definitely not be holding a Hamilton expo in 2016.

However….
We will be announcing a new Armageddon expo, in an all-new venue and area for the expo, to be held on March 5/6th 2016.

This announcement will be made tomorrow at 4pm, so stay tuned.

It was a nice weekend this year, just a quick trip down the motorway.

It will be interesting to see where the new location is...

This is so disappointing to hear - it was a fun event, a nice change from the overwhelming crowds at Auckland.

Yeah, I'm getting the feeling that it's just opportunistic. Sounds like the main convention centres in some of the other regions considered are booked out without suitable weekends available.
