My new collection
If you have read my introduction post, you will know I sold my old collection when I was 14. But now, as of today, I am officially collecting again!!

Ah, the eternal question. Personally I like to open them, as you can display more on a shelf.Galactic James wrote:To open, or to keep in packaging...

Re: My new collection
I think it all comes down to asking oneself, what is it about them that you like? If you know the answer, then that will help you decide which pieces to buy and what to leave, and how best to enjoy them. Welcome back to the hobby!

Re: My new collection
For me, everything is out of the packaging and in the display case. I want to see them, pose them occasionally, group them together.
To me, figures and statues in boxes look like a retail store shelf
Admittedly, there is some really nice packaging too, and I do keep the boxes for the 12in figures.
I also collect for my enjoyment, not for potential future value to on-sell.

I open everything except the vintage line that came out a few years back. I think they were the VOTC line? I love the vintage packaging. Bought double ups on some. One to open and one to keep in the packaging.
This is how I displayed the VOTC line:

Nice one James! Always love seeing a collection come together. Got any plans for how you're going to display it all? A room or nook that you'll be dedicating to the 'Wars?

Saber will hopefully be wall mounted in my bedroom, hoping to get a little display case for now, until I move into somewhere with a bit more room. Currently trying to decide what to start collecting first
