That is very cool.

I would love a whole set of this giant card backs......

There have been Hasbro blasters, scaled for adults, that were made a few years back.

someone could do a costume of the original 4" figures.

lol imagine Obi wan and Darth Vader with their big vinyl capes........

Hmmmm
perhaps I should add that to my to do list of costumes parodies.

Funnily enough... Actually I always wondered why Leia's costume was just so very very wrong ;)
I just remember thinking "ew" as a little girl ;) Now I think man that would have been so practical. Aside from the plastic cape...

The Powerhouse Museum had a collection of the 80s when I was there. There was a small display of SW figures but they were all in played with condition. All the capes were gone ;) Vader just looked nude without his.

Some nice photographs of the vintage figures.

so true, when you took off the vinyl cape lol they did look nude.

nice old photos, take me back to the good old days......
Dan I wish my parents hadn't decided to give away my Star wars Collection to a horrible 11 year old when I did My OE in my late teens early twenties.

I had nearly all the original ANH and ESB figures, even a couple of taun tauns, at at shuttle head and the cardboard Deathstar.

GG are slowly revealing that they are going to do most if not all of the initial 12 vintage figures, it would seem... http://www.mintinbox.net/Actus/10-07/0715gghammerhead

That card-back mockup reveals a few other future releases, like the Hammerhead mini-bust.

I'm not sure if this fits better here or in the "Jump the Shark" topic, but ...

Just in case the 12" Stormtrooper isn't big enough for you, ThinkGeek has this 24" Stormtropper figure which has a "rocket punch" feature where the hand shoots out. It's a Limited Edition of only 1200 figures, so costs a whopping US$300 (plus shipping).

The first in the series was released at ComicCon, and I think it looks neat. Haven't seen any good photos of it carded, but you can see it in the video -

Others in the series were on display also -

Stormtrooper and Boba Fett
Leia, Luke and Han
Hammerhead, Greedo, Ponda and Jawa
Vader, Tusken and Chewbacca
Rebel Legion - former LAC
