Custom 31" Black Series Storm Trooper Commander

Post by Edward26 »

After doing the Custom 6" Black Series Storm Trooper Commander.
I thought I will have a go with the 31" Figure as well.
I want to make an extra effort this time and put more detailing on this project.

So begins the take apart of the 31:" Jakks Storm Trooper.

Out comes the head. This took the most effort. No amount of brute strength could get it out. So I put it under a heat gun for 2 minutes and it soften the rubber. Must easier to take apart after that.

That's a great job disassembling, at a glance the last pic looks like a full size Stormtrooper lay out.

Will be watching this with interest

I wanted to be able to re-position position the right hand Thanks to Greyz for his advice. I feel confident to do this.
I wanted to go a step further and make the right hand movable. Was thinking of using a ball joint or similar item but it means spending money. Then the number 8 wire mentality kicked in. I have a old clip on light fitting from the warehouse that will work for this project.

This thread is just fantastic, judging by your last custom build this will be just as good if not better, can't wait to see the final result. :)

Hello all, finished the Stormtroper Commander today.
Not very pleased with the final result.
The arm did not hold in place after I put on the gun. Too heavy to keep this in place.
I will have to rework this.
Looks like I am not quitting my day job anytime soon.

It has been fun to work on this mini project.
Compared with what Greyz did with the Sandtrooper, this is child's play.

The paint work is great, it looks almost like your going for 501st approval in a costume, good work.
I can see what you mean with the arm and elbow joint, can you use some 32mm betta flex for the elbow and have something abit stronger in place for the positioning.
