Sprue photos of the 1:48 scale Bandai Snowspeeder kit...

Standard canopy & more engine parts... laser beams... main hull & engine flaps...

Finemolds 1:48 scale Snowspeeder sprues...

Box art & decal sheet...

Main hull parts... Base & stand... pilot & gunner...
Image Image

Engine & other detail parts... standard and clear canopies...

Closer details...

Bandai/Finemolds random detail & size comparisons...

Engine boxes, Bandai left, Finemolds right (slightly smaller)...

Engine box panels, Finemolds top, Bandai bottom (slightly bigger)...

Main hull (top), Finemolds left, Bandai right (slightly bigger)...

Bottom...

Pre-colored parts from Bandai right, no coloring Finemolds left...
Image

Figures... Bandai left (more detail, one piece), Finemolds right (three pieces per figure to be glued)
Image

The Bandai kit is slightly bigger than the Finemolds, and as for detail, I gotta say my pick is Bandai over Finemolds, the mobile photos don't justify the models but Bandai has the sharper detailed kit (sorry Finemolds), with that being said, I do like that Finemolds has included on the decal sheet two weathered color schemes for their Snowspeeder, the orange and the grey.

Cheers.

Another nicely detailed kit by Bandai, I feel a comparison shoot between this Bandai model and my AMT Speeder... thing is, I'm not willing to break the box seal :vader3: Bring on the Y-Wing and the Destroyer.

Flying out this Thursday to Germany, be away on tour in the EU, UK and USA for 8 weeks... If you know of any model stores in these area's I'd much appreciate a heads up...

I love how many individual detail parts are in that kit...such a contrast to the '83 AMT Scout and Bike I remember putting together as a kid.

Yes, that AMT kit was king and still is.

Thanks MattG

I love your work!

I've seen you guys perform, heaps, the last time being in March at Homegrown.

I tell ya, hanging out on a sunny Sunday afternoon in Welly, with you guys providing the soundtrack, well, it was rad.

Banned in the USA: Star Wars Model Kits

This was floating around for weeks and it is finally confirmed.
Bandai has received a cease and desist order from Star Wars Head Quarters.
It means that we will no longer be able to buy these outside Japan.
They will remove the links to international sales from September 20th.

For more details:
http://thefwoosh.com/2015/09/banned-ai- ... model-kits

A statement from the Revell company says otherwise:

We are massively confronted with the accusation that Revell invited Disney as licensor of the Star Wars license to prohibit Bandai selling Star Wars licensed products outside of Japan. This claim is plain wrong because we haven’t and won’t at no time take influence to the business matters of other manufacturers!
The truth is rather that each licensee, whether Revell or Bandai, is only be entitled to sell its licensed products under its own license contract and the countries agreed upon. These license contracts are concluded solely between the licensor Disney and the various licensees. We as Revell GmbH therefore aren’t allowed to sell our Star Wars products in Japan. On the other hand it is not possible for Bandai to sell its Star Wars products in the US and Europe, if these regions are not part of the contract.
Apart from that, we are convinced that a license like Star Wars lives from the wide variety of products and thus inspires young and old. Therefore we see the model kits of the company Bandai not as competition but as a supplement on the market for Star Wars model kits.

Anyone picked up the X-wing?
I can't find any decent video's of applying decals and stuff.
Hopefully here in Nz they aren't too much bother to get off asian sellers.

And i wouldn't put it past hasbro to have been the loudest voice, as their black series looks bad next to bandai's 6 inch figures.

There are a couple of sellers on TradeMe, one of whom is in Japan at the moment, who sells for pretty reasonable prices. There is also the LiveWire store in Auckland who sell them.
Mighty Ape even has a few on special to clear stock, but they're a bit more expensive.

ebay has the tie, tie ad, x-wing all around the under $40 mark inc shipping.
I wonder do people want me to post links to sellers when i see them at a decent price?
I search the bandai line every so often, the newest one seems to be out but is 53$ with shipping, i think in time it'll go lower and the falcon has appeared also. (around 70 so far, as stock goes up prices should drop some)
