Thanks Archon, I still have to do a bit of filling sanding and repainting a couple of times to get this just right, then i'll start molding.

Here is a few more WIP pics, applying the molding rubber to the helmet, then getting ready to fibreglass using chux cloths ( thanks for suggestion Oota).
Removing the modelling clay to apply other side of mold support.
Hopefully I will try to tidy this lot up tomorrow, I'll have heaps of time on my hands for this part and then post more pics.

i'm a bit behind on this thread looking awesome Badges, the helmet looks fantastic and the mold looks like it's going to work really well. Are you going to bolt the two halves of the jacket together?

Yes I will bolt them together, I have some 3/16th brass nuts and screws.
This method works quite well for me.

Well the first one was good, the second was ok, then it all went up the creek for me.
The third was a total waste of time.
The fibre glass epoxy reacted with the mold rubber.

did you clean the mold after each cast? depending on what product you are using it can leave alot of reside on the silicone. I recommend a good clean with meths. Meths isn't great for silicone but it only shows over time and many many casts good luck! :)

also what kind of reaction did you get dude ?
