Hi all here's my assembly guide for the E-11 kit for those who have one and those who are expecting one :O

I will try and make this as coherent as possible (no guarantees). This is by no means necessarily the best way to make these guns but it's the way I found that worked for me. feel free to comment with feedback and suggestions fire away!

Ok here we go

STEP 1 FOLDING STOCK

There's a small slot at the front of the barrel for the folding stock to fit into. This will give you the position of the back of the stock. You can glue and or pin the rear of the stock to the barrel.

STEP 2 GRIP

The grip will butt up against the rear of the folding stock. You'll need to sand the top of the grip to get the right curvature so that it will fit the barrel properly

I've superglued the grip in place and then drill and screwed the grip from inside the barrel

STEP 3 MAGAZINE.

the magazine should line up at a right angle to the grip and in line with the barrel holes. You'll need to sand the curvature again so it fits will. Glue in place and screw from the inside of the barrel.

The magazine should sit about 10mm back from the last barrel hole

STEP 4 UM THE JUNK AT THE FRONT

OK there's a wee plug with the a slot in it that glues into the front of the barrel and acts as a mount for the front sights and the bit where the laser bolts come out

You'll need to trim and fit these pieces but it's pretty straight forward

STEP 5 BOLT AND MINI FLASH GUARDS

OK aside from posting the pics in reverse order things are going reasonably well.

The bolt is a good fit inside the barrel but you will need to flatten the bottom of it so it can slide past the screws that hold the grip in. You'll also need to drill out the hole that takes the wee slide arm. This will slot into the back circle of the channel and be held in place by the barrel. Make sense?

The flash guards have a small tab underneath them. I recommend carefully filing out a small slot in the barrel and gluing them in. This will help with strength though to be honest if you are going to troop with this gun you might want to take extra precaution. It's a vulunerable part of the gun.

STEP 6 JUNK IN THE TRUNK

Right so glue the rear sight and rear clip top and bottom of the barrel. Don't bother screwing these into place until you've painted everything and put the bolt and spring in.

The wee circle of the rear sight should line up with the back of the channel. The bottom clip should be 23mm away from the back of the barrel.

The end cap you can stick on last when everything else is done. I ended up casting the spacer ring of the end cap with the cap itself to save hassle.

The kits at this stage do not come with a spring or a d-ring. I don't have a good solution to these pieces yet so future kits might have them watch this space

STEP errrr 7 I think. THE BITS THAT MAKE IT GO PEW PEW PEW!

So you should have a complete sterling at this point. You might like to paint the gun up now and add the e-11 parts later or wait till it's all together. Personally I found it easier to paint it like a sterling and add all the other parts later to avoid overspray and missing out hard to reach parts of the gun.

OK so the t track should press fit more or less into the barrel holes. There should be a barrel hole on the top for the scope rail to fit into. The rail needs to be cut and folded to fit between the rear sight and that final hole.

use the right angle bracket to attach the counter and then attach the bracket to the rail. the bracket and the rail and the scope should all be held together and be screwed into the feet of the scope.

the power cylinders glue on top of the magazine. You might want to further customise this part I have provided the basic shape.

Finally each gun comes with a serial number that fits into the hengstler counter. if it's not there then you must have lost it already! Up to you if you want to leave it in there.

STEP 8 ALL THE STUFF I FORGOT AND SOME PICS

OK so there's also a bayonet lug that needs to be screwed into the bottom left of the barrel. You'll see there's a missing hole in the barrel. It goes there

Also the magazine as a wee button that needs to be drilled and glued into the top.

The top sight I recommend drilling out and replacing the resin tab and replacing it with some more durable ABS plastic (provided in the kit). On some castings the tab is missing. It's flimsy and thin and only resin nowhere near durable enough so just replace it. just do it now.

For painting I used automotive spray paints. I'm not going to tell you how to paint it's all about what kind of finish you like. For the kits I've made so far I have gone for a more flat black/ weathered finish and that's not to everyone's taste so have fun with it you can always paint over what you don't like.

But please make sure you clean, etch prime and surface prime the gun before painting
