Jawa blaster - zero cost build

I set myself a goal of building this blaster solely from stuff already in the shed. Had a lot of fun with the lathe and bandsaw, plus hacksaws, hammers, etc. The weathering was a series of thinned acrylic washes dabbed on with a sponge, over a base coat of matt black Rustoleum, with a final dusting of bentonite powdered clay, which made a big difference. Now it looks like it's from a dusty desert environment.

Utinni!

Looks great. Nice finishing - I like seeing the transformation between the photos of the raw wood and rub'n'buffed version below it.

Is this part of a bigger project, or just a standalone job?

Thanks, Matt. It's not really part of a bigger project, but it is the fourth blaster I've scratch built. Basically, I've got a shed full of tools and materials, and I'd rather make than buy, plus there's so much fun to be had in the planning and building phase, so it's part of a series of standalone projects... :D
