Here are a couple of pics of the latest quick project for olivias school fancy dress.

BB8! Looks great so far. What are your plans for him in the end? LED's? Sounds? Movement?

At the moment for the bb8 he is just going to be a very basic pull along display.
I have used an old lamp stand as the base which is weighed down and added castors from Pete's emporium.
The shaft of the lamp stand goes right up through the middle of his body and the polystyrene dome.
This is so that if he does not behave while being pulled along then Olivia can move him by using the stubby antennae.
The body was an old window display item I picked up from glassons which is no longer done.
The circumference of the ball is only 390mm so not the full size I had hoped for but still it was free.

The quarter staff that I made was from old electrical conduit, 25mm & 32mm glued at various points.
Then I added black gripper glands and other items I found from our old laser printer that I pulled apart.
Final finishing glue was just hot melt glue to fill in the gaps then spray painted.
The webbing belt was just left over from what was given to me for snow trooper boots, that was the original use but never got to use it for that.

I have got the rest of my parts that I need to finish the full size dome.
This was all 3d printed from bb8 club specs.
When I get time I'll start putting that one together.
My plan for this one will be to make it a static display similar to Mike Sennas build from tested, with a couple of additions.

The leather was scraps from Peter blacks leather belt shop.

I have finished her wrist band and found an item at petes emporium that looks like a smaller version of the star destroyer capacitor bearing.
It's a mini screwdriver set for $1.90.
