Hi All,

This is my first post here, but I thought I should introduce myself to other BB8 builders. I built a fibreglass version in time for Armageddon this year to compliment my son's Poe Dameron costume, it proved to be very popular even though it was very much an beta version.

Since then I have reworked the internal drive mechanism, completely reworked his head and am in the process of adding sound and light.

Welcome to the forums JD, and nice work on your BB-8. He certainly was popular at 'Geddon.

Did you take many WIP photos of your build along the way? ...feel free to start a thread specific to your droid if you've got enough images for show and tell :)

Thanks Matt,
I have a few and some more of the rebuild, I'll take your advice and start a build thread backtracking the process.

I have been in touch with Cambrian plastics and they can make a white sphere or two domes in white at 6 mm thick with an overall dimension of 506mm

Looks like quite a few in the builders forum are going the way of the cr10s 3d printer which has a build size of 300x300x400mm.
And it is at a really decent price on some of the different websites around the place.

Hey guys, i know it's been a while since I've visited the forums, sorry about that been very busy.
I have just bought a 3d printer and am in the process of clearing out a home for it in my work shop.
I have a good mixture of parts for both the bb8 and bb9 build.
I was thinking of starting to complete my bb9 as I have a spinmaster bb8 that is so much fun to play with.
