I was looking at one on ebay but would rather support locally made where possible.
Also if adam has one then I should too.
You must have a decent sized furnace for your metal work, it would be good to catch up and have a look at your set up.
I would like to do some work with aluminium, I saw on the RPF forum someone recasting a clone helmet in Alu and i would like to do the same sort of thing only with a cylon helmet original made from polystyrene.

Yeah, the cherubs are hard to find.

I know a guy with a set of bronze ones, made from the original holds, which are too cool!
Is he in NZ and would he object to having reference photos taken for sizing and detail? :)

I only pour the wax – along with cleaning up the wax pulls and final bronze pieces – but the final pour is done by a foundry.

Oh, Ok fair enough, leave it to the experts in that area.
I would like to start doing my own stuff, I do deal a lot with scrap copper and brass with the occasional aluminium off cuts from solar jobs etc etc.
This could help out with some model making and casting using polystyrene casting methods like I had used in college years and years ago. :D

I just didn't fancy starting a foundry, is all.

Plus, the real fun is the finishing of the bronze, for sure.

I can see the benefits of using a foundry, they have the required amounts of melted metal for the work at hand, makes it easier for yourself which is fair enough.

Unfortunately, it seems that he's keeping the pieces out of the limelight... given how rare these are, which is kind of an understatement, I can understand that (but I also want a set, too, so I did complain).

By the way, I'm thinking of doing a small run of the alloy pieces, if anyone is keen?
