Getting an Anakin Skywalker Costume

I am new to this forum, and want to dress up as Anakin Skywalker at home. Looking around the internet, seems many costumes for sale are rubbish, or look cheap.

Further looking. I have found, what I think is the best Costumes you can buy and tailor made for you, with free postage also:

This is the link, seems far better then most I have seen. Next purchase is the Anakin Skywalker FX, with removable blade, then his boots does he not have a Glove? Will also purchase this.

Has anyone else got a Cosplay Costume? Mind you they have a good selection, but if you want to be a Stormtrooper they don't have them, but their costumes seem better then most.

Hi, welcome to the forum
The best way to get a costume you're happy with, is to make it yourself. It takes a little time, but is worth it - I taught myself to sew while creating my first jedi costume

The costume in that pic isn't too bad for the price, though some of the fabric choices don't look quite right?

Another possible option is CostumeBay - some SW costumers use some of the items. Not all are great quality, but quite reasonable for the price (I can't speak for the quality myself though). They have an Anakin costume available - both as a tunic set, or tunic with belt and cloak.

I'd also advocate for making it yourself too But I have a real problem with under priced costuming (which that really is, I know the labour costs are almost non-existent at that price). The costume isn't too bad but the tabards do not look like they are made from a high quality material (the originals are leather but a good vinyl will work) and I can't see anything of the quality of the sewing. I would avoid any site that doesn't have clear photos of the product, and these are quite fuzzy.

I know there are people in NZ who take commissions and who do good work. But I don't know how much you want to wear your costume I'd recommend getting to Armageddon though as there are a lot of people who costume with home made and bought costumes And a lot of appreciation for SW characters.
There are sites that detail how these costumes are a little more complex than most people realise (waist seams, linings and facings etc.) but again I'm not sure how far you want to take this in terms of accuracy so I'll leave them for another reply should you want to take up needle and thread, or get someone else to do so on your behalf

Not really into making my own. Been looking at Starwars costumes to buy, does not have to be totally accurate like many of you guys would have your costumes, but some of the ones I have seen are total crap. Here is a sample of a crap one:

Been looking at feedback on Ebay and have good feedback. Safer going through Ebay rather then some of the fakes on the Net.

They seem close enough for me anyway and much better then some I have seen by far.

Going to get one of the new Hasbro FX light Sabers with removable blade.


Decided to go for the Obi One Kanobi costume instead of Anakins, just slighly more colour then Anakins, whereas Anakins is mostly brown with a bit of black.
