Ooh, it does sound like it was an uneasy night for many. I hope everyone is generally okay.

Longest shake I've experienced in my life, but no damage at home in Wanganui. But just heard there is possible damage to the water tower that supplies much of the eastern part of town. Best wishes to all down south.

We're about 40 mins south of Christchurch and she rolled a lot here. Wasn't a sharp quake like past ones but dam it went on for ages.
Missus and I were on verge of grabbing kids out of bed as where expecting the quake to slam us.

A Batcave!

Blue tack and double sided tape should be your friend to help secure items at a height. :)

I'm glad you guys are ok, nothing worse than having to go through something like that for extended period of time.

Some rocking and rolling here in Wellington, but fortunately at our home we escaped unscathed with nothing broken or damaged. I feel for those closer to the epicenter who have had their lives changed and lost homes. :(
