Possibly a tad tardy (and I have to quadruple check my spelling as I write this - 5 Guinesses down the track), but the annual Queenstown Winter Festival/Reel Collectibles/Outpost 42 event is upon us.
Every year we roam the streets in a float parade in 501st costumes to the delight of fans... and we will do so again in about 11 hours.
Earlier tonight though, we managed a small military coup
Members of Outpost 42 led the Prime Minister onto the stage for the opening of the Festival, to the tune of Imperial March no less. 10 members were on stage with the PM in front of an estimated 5,000-10,000 people and a Youtube audience of ...??
Keep your eyes peeled on Facebook, Flickr, Youtube and other related forums over the weekend as we have a new Queenstown record of 17 SW characters and 3 non-SW Movie/TV Costumed characters in the float parade and available for photos at the Family Fun day.

Awesome; glad to hear it's started well. Sounds like a great turn out! Really looking forward to seeing interesting pics, including of that big crowd of costumers.
