I love seeing the old toy store photos that float around the internet, that show aisles of what were then brand new (but now "vintage") action figures on the pegs and shelves. Most are from US stores... found one today that happens to show Star Wars product in an NZ store... remember the old "Martin's Toy Stores" that were around NZ? Check out the pile of MPC kitsets at the front of this pic (from the Christchurch City Library archives):

I remember the old toy stores that were in my home town when I was growing up....I loved seeing the shelves packed with the original SW line. I still wake up in cold sweats thinking about the figures one of them had in a $1 bargain bin (I can still picture it) about a year or so after Jedi left the cinemas.....why didnt I buy the lot and tuck them away lol.

Yeah, I have strong recollections of buying a couple of POTF figures with the coins, heavily discounted at the local Farmers store, as the hype was dwindling in the mid-'80s.

martins toy store had a branch in hamilton,in victoria street when i was a lad.
i bought my hoth han there, remember it vividly.
also bought an empire coloring book later on. i still have both items today.

walls with pegs full of original star wars figures. buck rogers, battlestar galactica, pocket super hero's and the like.
i reckon these were the golden age of toys.
fond memories fer sure.
