We just heard back from adidas New Zealand - the Princess Leia shoe IS coming to New Zealand. It has a launch date of 1st February 2010, and will only be available in Wellington and Christchurch at the adidas Originals Stores. It is part of the "CHARACTERS" Pack so yes, it should be limited although I am unsure as to how many.
I wasn't sure because I was in a rush to get to the Borders branch before they closed and then forgot on the way back out, but I thought I saw these products in a shop window in Auckland's Sylvia Park shopping centre last week.
But looking at the shopping centre map, it must have been the Foot Locker branch which is just around the corner from Borders, and they do have the Adidas products advertised on the Foot Locker website with this banner (you can click on it to visit the Adidas website):
I've received the following update on the adidas footwear range, soon available in New Zealand.
I just want to inform SWNZ readers that we have the next installment of footwear due to drop in store this Friday March 12th, 2010.

I do like those Tie shoes... here's a passing thought for you; What do you guys all think about the possibility some of these shoes will become 'collectible', perhaps in much the same way that the Onitsuka Tiger Asics that The Bride wore in Kill Bill got very hard to find?
