"R2-D2" on The Goodies episode in 1980

Post by MattG »

Who remembers the 1980 episode of "The Goodies" that featured a knock-off R2-D2, called "EB-GB"?

I had recollections of seeing an actual astromech in this episode, but hadn't watched it in forever... when I eventually looked it up, the droid they built for the episode is surprisingly detailed, and jam-packed with all sorts of mechanics for various gags. IMDB actually credits Kenny Baker in the role of EB-GB.

This is classic! Thanks so much for posting it. I'd forgotten how much they lampooned everything in the age before Political Correctness. :)
