Someone else (jalopnik.com) pointed out the similarities between Solo's speeder in the trailer and a 1965 Ford Falcon, so I did some image comparisons... influences continue right through to the dashboard.

I know someone on FB joked that maybe they used an actual Ford Falcon to build this, but I think it might be accurate.
It would certainly make it easier for the replica prop community.

Either way, it looks pretty cool.

I have to admit, I didn't notice this before when watching the 'Solo' trailer (Kristy spotted it first)... lucky dice...

Here's something a little crazy. According to Entertainment Weekly, Lawrence Kasdan was bought on by Lucasfilm to write a Han Solo movie *before* LFL was sold to Disney.

Even before Lucasfilm was sold to Disney in 2012, launching a renaissance of galactic storytelling, Lawrence Kasdan had signed on to put together a Han Solo-centric movie. Then he was brought aboard Episode VII, and that became all-consuming.

An important thing to remember is that Lawrence Kasdan, the screenplay writer for this, also wrote the screenplay for ESB (which involved a lot of character development for Han) and ROTJ. Kasdan has been working on ideas for a Han Solo for a fairly long time... he had plans and an outline worked up for this story before Disney bought Lucasfilm. I think he's got the credentials for this to a be a solid story, with a lot of respect for the established character of Han Solo.

Has anyone heard any news regarding mid-night screening for this movie release? I've taken a day off work anyway ;)

No confirmation locally, but apparently they are available in some theatres in the US already, and have been advertised as being available in other countries like Germany on 4th May... possible we could get them later next week.
