This is very sad to hear.

I'm a big fan of Dave, not just 'cause of his role as the big fella, but because he is just an all-round awesome guy.

Long story short, back in 2003 – it was '03, right, Matt? – a few of us were lucky enough to spend some time with Peter Mayhew and Dave Prowse (as well as their wives, too). While I didn’t gel with Chewie, which kind o’ sucked, I did spend a lot of time talking with Dave ‘bout everything but the Wars – that included his time guiding Schwarzenegger and his conversations with Kubrick.

Those were great times!

I met David at the 03 convention, great guy to talk to, I had just returned from LA and had a sweat shirt on from world gym which he used to work out at with Arnold and Lou.
He was on his way to see his auntie in Belgium.
I have a pic around somewhere of us both at his table, i'll have to find it to post.

Here's the kicker, the picture is that old I found the negative for it, so will get it processed asap, I found it on the same roll that I had in Los Angeles with my ride along with the LAPD.
That's how I got the World gym sweat shirt, it was a present from the senior sergeant I went out on patrol with.
