Very crisp build! Looks excellent. And it looks to be setting without any warping issues.

Re: Slyclone's various builds thread
Thanks mate, a very minor warp on the dome as I risked not using anything to strengthen the inside.Blaxmyth wrote:Very crisp build! Looks excellent. And it looks to be setting without any warping issues.
Just applied some fibreglass to the interior of the helmet for strength then I ran out of resin!!!!

Looking cool Sly! Did you mention what paint job you're going to go for on this ARF? ...there are some cool options to choose from.

I'm likely going to attempt the Teth camo pattern. Will be interesting to see how it goes as it's quite the difficult pattern I've read.MattG wrote:Looking cool Sly! Did you mention what paint job you're going to go for on this ARF? ...there are some cool options to choose from.

Re: Slyclone's various builds thread
Evening all, can't believe this thread has over 2k views, really never thought I'd get a second look with my work.
Now seeing it's been awhile since I've touched the first ARF helmet I decided to do some more Bondo work on it this evening. Rounded the neck ring some more and filled some holes plus a few other bits and pieces and have done more work around the snout. I'll take some more photos tomorrow as when I took these ones I'd only done some rounding.

Re: Slyclone's various builds thread
Thanks Canny, takes time and effort as you well know.
Did more work today on the snout and goggle area which is proving to be a right cow. When I assembled it originally I made the mistake of trimming one area on the goggles and it made the left corner sit too far back in under the visor and tweaked the entire goggle into an out of round shape. Been slowly building up the side with body filler to get the right look but am thinking that I may have to build a template to go in there to correct it more easily. The issue can be seen in the top photo of this post.

Re: Slyclone's various builds thread
It's turned out to be Big brown box day in the Slyclone family home. I'm like a bloody excited school boy today. Obligatory armour lying on floor shot!
Now to trace out cut lines, get some contact cement and start fitting this puppy together!

Re: Slyclone's various builds thread
Evening all,
Been awhile since I've done anything with my projects. Life unfortunately got in the way for awhile. But after a good clean out of the garage and got stuck back into it.
Done another couple of coats on my stormtrooper helmet, added some more resin and fibreglass to version 2.0 of my ARF and of course did it all safely with a decent respirator and some safety glasses just incase.

Re: Slyclone's various builds thread
Evening all, started with the bondo on V2 of my ARF helmet. Doing nice thin coats so I don't need to sand forever!!
