holy sith ok Well if anyone's got any leads on a sterling let me know. I'll make one for the free as a finders fee. I would definitely go down the aluminium barrel and urethane parts road it's a really nice way to make these things

Can you even get Sterlings in NZ? I had a brief daydream of casually coming across one at a gun show (not that I go to gun shows) and building a 'real' E-11.oota goota wrote:holy sith ok Well if anyone's got any leads on a sterling let me know. Exactly! Someone must have one somewhere that they wouldn't mind me putting in silicone. There's nothing in the moulding process that can damage a gun if it's done properly.MattG wrote:The NZ Army used to use them.Armante wrote:...Can you even get Sterlings in NZ? Re: MG34/ DLT19 project
They are out there but in the $3000 to $4000 price range.
New Zealand Amoured Corp used them well into the 1980's as the old SLR rifle was too long to have next to you in tanks and amoured personnel carriers.
I've asked around guys I know in the Wellington region but no luck so far

Try the museums, tell them what you intent to do and see if you can get access to one. The worst that can happen is they say no.
or see if GunCity will come to the party:

The T-H-X account is six percent over budget. The case is to be terminated.
