Heres my next project - a Doopy Doos ANH Han Solo Hero DL-44 that I got for my birthday.

Very sharp and clean casting with alot of pieces, should be a fun build.

Yeah for sure - I considered turning the Denix I got off you into a full metal ANH DL-44 but that was gonna cost the same as a small countries GDP. Ill save the Denix for a full metal ESB I think. Great thing is I was walking around the house with the reciever & slide rubber banded together shooting things and saying "pew,pew" much to my wifes amusement.

Hi all,

Despite the weather Ive managed to get the base painting done:





Im going for a metal gun base with aluminium accessories so all parts were primed, prepped, primed again, prepped some more & finally primed again before hitting the receiver & slide with light gun metal grey & the scope bar,mount, scope, barrel, hider & knobs in silver.

The scope bar & scope mount needed the most amount of prep work but everything else was well cast with some great detailing & only minor clean up needed.

Im wanting more a of pre production/worn metal style of DL-44 than a straight out of the factory look so Ill be testing out some ebony rub n buff on the body & slide to try and achieve a "bluing" effect. Depending on how it goes I might look at using it on the barrel & hider too but paint the scope mount & scope - Im aiming to make it look like an assembled prop as opposed to one hunk of resin.
