ANOVOS to offer Star Wars costumes

Any Star Trek or modern Battlestar Galactica fan/costumer will be familiar with ANOVOS - a high end costume replica company started by two costumers who took their passion to the next level. Shots of their booth this weekend at Chicago's C2E2 convention confirms they will be offering Star Wars costumes very soon - image from their Instagram account -

The official "Star Wars" replica costume collection comes from elite nerd costumier Anovos. It premieres with three outfits -- Luke Skywalker's Bespin uniform (with holster), Han Solo's iconic outfit and, later in the summer, Darth Vader's intimidating garb. Replica costumes range in size from small to XXL and are considered unisex.

"Our new 'Star Wars' collection goes way beyond simple costumes," Anovos CEO Joe Salcedo said in a press release. "They're based on the original costume designs and patterns used in the production of these classic movies."

Presales for these licensed wearable replica costumes start on Star Wars Day, May the 4th, beginning with the three outfits from "The Empire Strikes Back." Pieces from the collection will premiere during the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo from April 25 to 27.

Other rumoured costumes on their list - Hoth/Bespin Leia, Jango Fett, Boba Fett, Imperial Officer.

Signs at their booth suggests you might be able to buy items like the belt/holsters on their own.

I'm liking the fact that they're selling some accessories/components separately. And, compared to others who have had the license for Star Wars costumes, these guys' material sourcing, patterning, and attention to detail are meticulous.

That's a costume that belongs to one of the owner's friends, I hear, and not a prototype.

Correct, more for an indication of what products they'll be offering, rather than displaying the exact costume customers would receive.

I wonder if they used original molds like Gino and efx Collectables did for the ANH helmet or perhaps this is a new cast entirely.
